Pricing & Private-Pay Disclosures
Please contact Hear Florida before ordering if you intend to use insurance, a hearing-aid allowance, a managed-care program, a voucher, or another third-party hearing benefit. We can help you compare your available hearing benefits with our private-pay options to determine which choice may provide the best overall value for your hearing needs and included care.
1. Pricing and Private-Pay Options
1.1 Private-Pay Pricing
Prices displayed in the Hear Florida online shop are private-pay prices unless otherwise stated.
Private-pay pricing applies when hearing aids are purchased directly from Hear Florida without applying an insurance benefit, managed-care benefit, hearing-aid allowance, voucher, discount certificate, third-party hearing benefit, or another discount toward the purchase.
Insurance benefits, managed-care benefits, hearing-aid allowances, vouchers, promotional certificates, discount programs, and other discounts cannot be combined with or applied toward a Hear Florida private-pay offer unless Hear Florida expressly states otherwise in writing.
Private-pay pricing does not prevent a patient from using an eligible personal payment method, including a health savings account, flexible spending account, personal credit card, or approved financing.
1.2 Comparing Hearing Benefits With Private-Pay Options
Using a hearing benefit may not provide the same hearing-aid selection, price, warranty, trial period, service package, provider choice, or follow-up care available through a private-pay purchase.
- Approved hearing-aid models and technology levels
- Member prices, copayments, vouchers, or allowances
- Participating-provider requirements
- Warranty and loss-and-damage provisions
- Follow-up care and service limitations
- Trial periods and return procedures
- Authorization and documentation requirements
- Ordering, repair, and replacement procedures
Hear Florida can help you compare your available hearing benefits with our private-pay options so you can better understand the products, services, costs, warranties, and continuing care included with each choice.
The final decision is always yours. Our goal is to help you identify the option that may provide the best overall value based on your hearing needs, lifestyle, budget, available benefits, and preferred level of local care.
1.3 Everyday Low Prices
An Everyday Low Price is Hear Florida’s established private-pay price for the identified product and included services.
The displayed price applies only to the product, technology level, style, color, quantity, accessories, warranty, and professional-care package described on the applicable product page or written purchase agreement.
Different models, colors, styles, configurations, accessories, custom products, and service packages may have different prices.
1.4 In-Stock Specials
An In-Stock Special is a private-pay promotional price offered on designated hearing aids currently available through Hear Florida.
- Manufacturer and model
- Technology level
- Hearing-aid style
- Color
- Quantity
- Hear Florida location
- Inventory availability
- Offer period
An in-stock price applies only to qualifying inventory. It is not automatically available for special-order colors, styles, configurations, replacement devices, or other products.
Inventory remains subject to availability until the order is confirmed. Hear Florida will not substitute a different color, model, style, or technology level without the patient’s approval.
1.5 Promotional and Limited-Time Pricing
Promotional prices apply only during the stated offer period and while qualifying products or inventory remain available.
- Cannot be combined with another discount, voucher, allowance, hearing benefit, or promotional offer unless expressly stated otherwise
- Has no cash value
- Is not transferable
- May be limited to private-pay purchases
- May exclude insurance, managed-care, voucher, or third-party benefit transactions
- May be changed or withdrawn before an order is accepted, subject to applicable law
Promotional pricing is not retroactive and does not apply to a prior purchase after the applicable hearing-aid trial period has ended.
Patients who remain within their applicable trial period may contact Hear Florida to discuss available product changes, technology-level changes, or current promotional options. Any adjustment remains subject to product availability, the original purchase agreement, applicable trial terms, and the final hearing aids selected and delivered.
1.6 Best Value Guarantee
Hear Florida combines new premium hearing technology with comprehensive in-person professional care to provide strong overall value in Southwest Florida.
Subject to the terms below, Hear Florida will match a lower current advertised or written price on the same new hearing-aid model when the competing offer includes substantially equivalent warranty, trial-period terms, professional fitting, follow-up care, and service coverage, with all required patient care provided in person in Florida.
Qualifying Competing Offer
To qualify, the competing offer must:
- Be current, genuine, verifiable, and available to the patient at the time the request is submitted
- Identify the same new hearing-aid manufacturer, model, technology level, style, and quantity
- Be offered through a manufacturer-authorized arrangement
- Include required patient care delivered in person in Florida by an appropriately licensed hearing-care provider
- Include substantially equivalent professional evaluation, fitting, programming, verification, follow-up care, trial-period terms, manufacturer warranty, loss-and-damage coverage, accessories, and service coverage
- Disclose all required fees, service charges, membership costs, shipping charges, financing conditions, and other amounts necessary to obtain the advertised or written price
A qualifying offer may originate from an in-person provider or from an online company, referral platform, or purchasing service, provided that the complete offer satisfies these requirements and all required patient care is furnished in person in Florida.
How to Request a Price Match
The patient must provide a current advertisement, webpage, dated written quote, or other documentation reasonably sufficient for Hear Florida to verify the competing price and included products and services.
The request must be submitted before purchase or during the applicable hearing-aid trial period. Price-match requests submitted after the trial period has ended are not eligible, and later advertised prices, written quotes, sales, promotions, or in-stock specials will not be applied retroactively.
Hear Florida may contact the competing provider, platform, or manufacturer to confirm the offer, product availability, authorization status, and included care. Hear Florida may request additional documentation when the competing offer does not clearly identify all material terms.
Comparison of Overall Offer
The Best Value Guarantee compares the complete hearing-aid offer—not the device price alone. A lower price does not qualify when the competing offer excludes or materially reduces services, coverage, products, or protections included with the Hear Florida offer.
Relevant differences may include:
- New versus used, refurbished, reconditioned, demo, open-box, or previously registered devices
- Manufacturer warranty length and coverage
- Loss-and-damage protection and replacement fees
- Trial-period length, return rights, and cancellation terms
- Professional fitting, verification, programming, and follow-up visits
- Included accessories, chargers, receivers, earmolds, supplies, or service plans
- Local repair support, loaner availability, and continuing care
- Required memberships, subscriptions, enrollment fees, or bundled purchases
- Shipping, handling, setup, professional-service, or other mandatory charges
Exclusions
The Best Value Guarantee does not apply to:
- Used, refurbished, reconditioned, demo, open-box, returned, previously registered, or liquidation products
- Counterfeit, gray-market, unauthorized, discontinued, closeout, clearance, typographical-error, or pricing-error offers
- Offers for a different model, technology level, style, quantity, warranty, accessory package, or professional-care package
- Offers that do not include all required in-person patient care in Florida
- Private membership, employee, family, military, group, nonprofit, research, manufacturer-employee, or other restricted offers not available to the patient on the same terms
- Insurance, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, managed-care, third-party administrator, voucher, allowance, workers’ compensation, vocational-rehabilitation, or other subsidized benefit transactions
- Auctions, bidding sites, person-to-person marketplaces, resale platforms, or offers from individual sellers
- Manufacturer rebates, gift cards, trade-in values, financing promotions, bundled incentives, or future credits unless Hear Florida expressly agrees that they are directly comparable
Final Review and Adjustment
Hear Florida will review each request in good faith and determine whether the competing offer is substantially equivalent. Any approved adjustment will be documented in the purchase agreement or other written confirmation.
If an approved price match is requested during the hearing-aid trial period, the adjustment may be issued as a refund, credit, revised purchase agreement, or other appropriate transaction adjustment. Financing-provider requirements and processing times may affect how and when an approved adjustment is applied.
The Best Value Guarantee may be modified or discontinued prospectively, but any written price match already approved by Hear Florida will be honored according to its documented terms.
2. Product Selection and Professional Care
2.1 Selecting the Appropriate Hearing Aid
An online product selection represents the patient’s preferred hearing-aid model, technology level, style, and color. It does not replace a professional hearing evaluation, physical fitting, or final recommendation.
- Type and degree of hearing loss
- Speech-understanding ability
- Speech-in-noise results
- Ear health and ear-canal anatomy
- Ear-canal acoustics
- Hearing-aid style and physical fit
- Receiver strength
- Receiver-wire length
- Dome size and style
- Earmold style and material
- Venting and acoustic coupling
- In-ear calibration results
- Comfort and retention
- Dexterity and vision
- Lifestyle and listening environments
- Connectivity needs
- Personal sound preferences
- Budget and available hearing benefits
After the in-person evaluation and professional consultation, the patient may change the selected model, technology level, style, color, receiver, dome, earmold, or other fitting component before final delivery.
2.2 Changes to the Selected Product
When the final selection costs less than the amount already paid, Hear Florida will adjust the order and refund or credit the applicable difference.
When the final selection costs more, the patient must approve and pay the applicable difference before or at delivery.
Financing authorizations or payment arrangements may need to be revised if the final product or purchase amount changes.
Hear Florida will explain any material change in product, services, or price and obtain the patient’s approval before completing the revised order.
2.3 Prescription Hearing-Aid Orders
Prescription hearing aids ordered through Hear Florida require professional evaluation, programming, fitting, and delivery through a Hear Florida Hearing Aid Center.
Hear Florida does not ship prescription hearing aids directly to Florida patients. Required testing, professional programming, physical fitting, and delivery are completed in person.
Accessories, maintenance supplies, replacement parts, and other eligible nonprescription products may have separate pickup and shipping options.
The selected Hear Florida location will ordinarily coordinate the patient’s evaluation, fitting, delivery, and included follow-up care. A patient may request a different Hear Florida location before delivery, subject to scheduling and availability.
2.4 Professional Fitting and In-Ear Calibration
A professional hearing-aid fitting involves more than entering hearing-test results into fitting software.
- Otoscopic inspection of the ear canal
- Ear and hearing-aid measurements
- Selection of the appropriate receiver-wire length based on ear measurements
- Selection of receiver strength based on hearing loss and fitting requirements
- Selection of domes based on the visual diameter, shape, and anatomy of the ear canal
- Selection of appropriate venting, retention, and acoustic coupling
- Physical-fit and comfort adjustments
- In-ear calibration
- Individualized programming based on hearing results and ear acoustics
- Sound-quality and loudness adjustments
- Feedback and acoustic-performance checks
- Device orientation and use instructions
- Follow-up fine-tuning when needed
The selected dome, receiver, earmold, or acoustic coupling may be changed when needed to improve comfort, retention, sound delivery, feedback management, or hearing performance.
2.5 Earmolds and Acoustic Fittings
Custom earmolds are available when clinically appropriate or preferred.
- Receiver-wire length
- Receiver strength
- Dome size and style
- Venting
- Retention options
- Custom earmolds
- Other acoustic couplings
Custom earmolds may be recommended for patients who need additional retention, comfort, sound control, feedback management, or acoustic output. They may also be appropriate for severe or complex hearing losses or when standard domes do not provide an acceptable physical or acoustic fit.
There is no additional charge for taking ear impressions for custom hearing-aid earmolds when the hearing aids are purchased through Hear Florida.
The custom earmolds themselves may involve an additional charge for private-pay patients unless the applicable product page, offer, or written purchase agreement expressly states that earmolds are included.
Patients using insurance, managed-care benefits, vouchers, or other third-party hearing benefits may be eligible for custom earmolds at no additional charge, subject to the coverage, authorization requirements, and terms of the applicable benefit program.
2.6 What Is Included
The services and benefits included with a hearing-aid purchase are those stated on the applicable product page and written purchase agreement.

- Speech-in-noise testing
- Otoscopic inspection of the ear canal
- Selection of an appropriate hearing-aid style
- Selection of receiver strength and receiver-wire length
- Selection of domes, venting, retention, and acoustic coupling

- Follow-up care for the stated coverage period
- Lifetime hearing-aid clean and checks
- Manufacturer warranty
- Loss-and-damage coverage
- Charger or other identified accessories
- Hearing-aid trial period
Product pages should be reviewed carefully because included services, accessories, custom earmolds, warranty coverage, loss-and-damage coverage, and follow-up care may vary by product, technology level, manufacturer, offer, and benefit pathway.
2.7 Phone App, Streaming and Accessory Setup
When a compatible manufacturer phone app is available, Hear Florida will assist patients who purchase hearing aids through Hear Florida with downloading and setting up the app on a compatible smartphone.
Hear Florida will also assist with pairing a compatible phone to the hearing aids and checking that supported phone calls, audio, and media streaming functions are operating as expected. These services are provided at no additional charge for hearing aids purchased through Hear Florida, provided that the patient’s phone, operating system, hearing aids, app, and wireless features are compatible.
The same no-additional-charge setup assistance applies to compatible assisted-listening devices and wireless accessories when the hearing aids are purchased through Hear Florida. This may include basic pairing, connection checks, and confirmation that supported functions are operating as expected.
Compatibility and feature availability depend on the hearing-aid model, accessory, smartphone model, operating system, app version, wireless protocol, and manufacturer requirements. Hear Florida cannot guarantee compatibility with every phone, accessory, app, or future software update.
3. Trial Period, Returns and Price Adjustments
3.1 Hearing-Aid Trial Period
Hear Florida provides a 45-day hearing-aid trial period unless a different period is required or expressly stated in the applicable written purchase agreement.
The trial period begins when the hearing aids are delivered to the patient, subject to applicable law and the terms of the written purchase agreement.
Product returns, exchanges, cancellations, earmold charges, custom products, accessories, missing components, damage, financing credits, and refund timing are governed by the applicable purchase agreement and the Hear Florida Returns & Refunds Policy.
3.2 Returns for Accessories, Supplies and Other Products
Returns involving accessories, assisted-listening devices, chargers, cleaning products, maintenance supplies, ear-care products, custom items, and other non-hearing-aid products are governed by the Hear Florida Returns & Refunds Policy.
Return eligibility may depend on the product type, condition, packaging, hygiene considerations, whether the item was opened or used, and whether it was specially ordered or customized. Some products may not be returnable once opened, used, or removed from sealed packaging.
Review the Returns & Refunds Policy before purchasing non-hearing-aid products.
3.3 Price Adjustments
The final purchase price is based on the hearing aids, accessories, services, custom products, and professional-care package ultimately selected and delivered.
- The patient changes models or technology levels
- The patient changes hearing-aid styles or configurations
- A selected in-stock product is no longer available
- A special-order color or configuration is selected
- A custom earmold is added
- An accessory is added or removed
- The patient elects to use a verified hearing benefit
- Financing terms or the approved purchase amount change
- A qualifying trade-in or other offer is approved
Hear Florida will explain and obtain approval for any material price change before the revised transaction is completed.
3.4 Finality After the Trial Period
After the applicable hearing-aid trial period expires, the original purchase price and transaction terms are final. Hear Florida will not make retroactive price changes, exchanges, returns, refunds, credits, or adjustments based on a later promotion, sale, manufacturer offer, Best Value Guarantee request, in-stock special, clearance price, or other pricing opportunity.
Any request for a price adjustment, product exchange, return, refund, or Best Value Guarantee review must be made before the applicable trial period expires and remains subject to the requirements of this policy, the purchase agreement, product availability, and any applicable third-party administrator, insurance, financing, or benefit-program terms.
This rule does not limit any separate manufacturer warranty service, loss-and-damage benefit, or other right that continues after the trial period under a written agreement or applicable law.
4. Benefits, Taxes and Financing
4.1 Insurance, Managed-Care Programs and Vouchers
These programs may require Hear Florida to follow separate product, pricing, documentation, authorization, ordering, fitting, service, and billing procedures.
- Health-insurance hearing benefits
- Medicare Advantage hearing benefits
- Managed-care hearing programs
- Third-party benefit administrators
- Employer or union hearing benefits
- Hearing-aid allowances
- Vouchers
- Discount plans
- Manufacturer-sponsored benefit programs
- Other third-party payment arrangements
A patient should not complete a private-pay hearing-aid purchase with the expectation that an insurance plan, benefit administrator, managed-care program, or voucher will reimburse or retroactively apply the benefit unless that arrangement has been confirmed in writing.
Benefit eligibility and coverage are not guaranteed until verified by the applicable plan or benefit administrator.
4.2 Florida Sales Tax, Shipping and Optional Services
Florida sales tax is applied according to the type of product purchased and the applicable tax rules in effect at the time of the transaction.
The following items are exempt from Florida sales tax:
- Prescription hearing aids
- Custom hearing-aid earmolds
- Hearing-aid receivers
- Receiver wires
- Hearing-aid domes
- Other necessary hearing-aid parts that attach to or form part of the hearing aid
- Qualifying ear drops
- Ear-wax sprays
- Ear-wax removal products and kits
These items are exempt because they are hearing aids, necessary hearing-aid components, repair parts, or qualifying medical products.
General cleaning and maintenance products, including hearing-aid wipes and similar supplies, are taxable unless a specific Florida exemption applies.
Wireless accessories and assisted-listening devices, including television streamers, remote microphones, remote controls, chargers, and similar products, are generally taxable unless specifically exempt under Florida law.
Applicable sales tax is calculated during checkout after the customer’s billing or shipping information is entered.
Shipping charges, when applicable, are displayed before payment is submitted. Prescription hearing aids are not shipped directly to patients and must be picked up at a selected Hear Florida location after all required in-person evaluation, programming, fitting, verification, and delivery steps are completed.
Accessories purchased by themselves may be eligible for shipping, free shipping, or pickup, depending on the product, destination, order value, and options displayed at checkout. When an order contains both a prescription hearing aid and a normally shippable accessory, the entire order must be picked up at one selected Hear Florida location. This mixed-order rule avoids splitting the patient’s order between shipment and pickup.
Hear Florida does not add an accessory pickup or standard shipping surcharge solely because the accessory was purchased online. Any applicable expedited, special-handling, professional setup, or other disclosed charge remains the customer’s responsibility.
There is no additional charge for basic app setup, phone pairing, streaming checks, or setup of compatible assisted-listening devices and wireless accessories when the hearing aids are purchased through Hear Florida, provided that the phone, hearing aids, app, and accessories are compatible. A professional setup fee may apply to accessories purchased separately, or when additional hands-on setup, pairing, troubleshooting, compatibility assistance, or personal instruction is requested. Any applicable fee will be disclosed before the service is provided.
4.3 Financing Estimates and Payment Options
Monthly payment amounts displayed on product pages are estimates based on the currently selected product price and the stated illustrative financing terms.
Actual financing availability and payment amounts depend on:
- The financing provider
- Credit approval
- The final purchase amount
- The products and services ultimately selected
- The financing plan selected
- The applicable financing agreement and promotional terms
Estimated monthly payments are not a credit offer, approval, or guarantee. CareCredit and other financing options are subject to credit approval and the financing provider’s terms and conditions.
At checkout, eligible customers may choose to make an available online payment or select Reserve Order — Pay at Pickup. Selecting the reserve option does not collect payment, create a CareCredit authorization, or guarantee financing approval. Payment and any approved financing may instead be completed in person when the customer picks up the order and confirms the final products, services, price, and transaction terms.
Prescription hearing aids still require in-person evaluation, fitting, and delivery even when payment is completed online. CareCredit eligibility, payment timing, and financing disclosures are explained separately in the Hear Florida CareCredit Financing Terms.
5. Product Availability and Final Terms
5.1 Pricing Errors and Product Availability
Hear Florida makes reasonable efforts to keep online pricing, product descriptions, availability, warranty information, included-care information, and promotional terms accurate.
If a material pricing, typographical, technical, or inventory error occurs, Hear Florida may contact the customer before accepting or completing the order.
The customer will be given an opportunity to approve the corrected information or cancel the affected order.
Hear Florida will not knowingly substitute a different product or materially increase the final price without the patient’s approval.
5.2 Questions About Pricing or Hearing Benefits
Hear Florida can help you review private-pay prices, insurance benefits, managed-care programs, vouchers, product options, custom earmolds, financing, and included professional care before you make a final decision.
